Acupuncture

With our doctor's outstanding expertise – over 19 years' practice in acupuncture and Chinese medicine – you're in excellent hands!

The science and art of acupuncture has been handed down to us through centuries of practice, originating in traditional Chinese medicine. Today, acupuncture has gained international recognition for its ability to treat various health issues, including gastrointestinal problems, asthma & allergies, anxiety & depression, hormonal imbalances, infertility, and much more. It's a simple equation: stress is the leading cause of illness and disease in the US, so more stress equals more illness. Acupuncture is a safe way to treat the source of illness instead of just the symptoms. With the right acupuncture practitioner, you can prevent health problems before you even feel the symptoms. Our society is mostly focused on "sick care," meaning we wait until something is wrong with our health before we seek help. Acupuncture can often detect health issues energetically before they become a physical problem.

A common misconception about acupuncture is that the needles used in the treatment hurt; it's not true! Our acupuncture needles are made of surgical stainless steel, and they're as fine as a strand of hair, so they are quite painless upon insertion. For children and babies, we only use acupressure with a hand massager, stimulating the acupuncture points without needles. With our doctor's outstanding expertise – over 19 years' practice in acupuncture and Chinese medicine – you're in excellent hands!

Energy Work, NAET and Allergy Treatment

We integrate our treatment with western medical doctors and any other specialist required to address your holistic health concerns.

Acupuncture can also help treat common allergies like trees, flowers, pollen, grass, dairy, grains, and more. These allergies can cause all kinds of symptoms and secondary illnesses like acne, arthritis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, headaches, insomnia, PMS, and indigestion, among others. NAET, or Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique, can help detect and treat sensitivities that might be creating symptoms in your body. By stimulating various points on the body, acupuncture practitioners help regulate your body's flow of energy, which can alleviate symptoms.

Our practice has one of only two NAET certifying instructors in NY, and Dr. Rotondi studied directly with Dr. Devi Nambudripad herself. With her Doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Dr. Rotondi is uniquely qualified to evaluate and treat your allergies and any symptoms related to them. We are focused on your holistic well-being, meaning we take into consideration every part of your body and how it coordinates with other parts and your mind. We integrate our treatment with western medical doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, reiki practitioners, hypnotists, and any other specialist required to address your holistic health concerns.

Natural Herbs and Supplementation

We have the knowledge and expertise to recommend the best supplements for your particular health situation.

Herbal medicine is simply using the right plant seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers to address your specific medical needs. Ancient Chinese and Egyptian civilizations used plants for medicinal purposes as far back as 3000 BC, and almost one third of modern pharmaceutical drugs are derived from botanicals. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 80% of people worldwide rely on herbal medicines for some part of their primary health care. Supplements like echinacea, St. John's wort, garlic, valerian, ginger, and chamomile are some common herbs used to treat physical symptoms.

As part of our wholistic approach to your health and well-being, we'll explore with you whether certain herbal supplements can help in your journey to wellness. Supplements can target vitamin and mineral deficiencies that are causing physical ailments, complementing and increasing the effectiveness of your acupuncture treatments. Dr. Rotondi has a Master's degree in Herbal Medicine, so she has the knowledge and expertise to recommend the best supplements for your particular health situation.

Stress Reduction Therapy

With the right combination of elements, we can help you reduce the impact of stress on your life and your body, getting you one step closer to your wellness goals.

Stress has become an almost normal part of our daily lives. Sources of stress, or stressors, can include lack of sleep, anxiety, social pressure, work, family problems, and much more. Chronic stress can develop when stress has no way to leave the body, and the body can't properly rest or heal itself. It can manifest emotionally, mentally, and even physically. Physical manifestations of stress can include insomnia, changes in appetite, migraines, chronic pain, changes in mental health, and even heart attack and stroke. Stress is a serious disruption of our bodies' natural energy rhythms, and when the flow of energy is disrupted, physical symptoms emerge.

Acupuncture is a fantastic tool for eliminating stress that has built up in our bodies and is disrupting the natural flow of energy. Our integrated, holistic approach to beating stress incorporates acupuncture and other proven stress-relieving methods. Our Stress Reduction Therapy includes a combination of Reiki (a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing), guided meditation, hypnosis, and the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture. It draws on various theories of alternative medicine, including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, and energy medicine. With the right combination of elements, our Stress Reduction Therapy can help you reduce the impact of stress on your life and your body, getting you one step closer to your wellness goals.
